The Foodbank of Southern California Raises Over $13,000 By Participating in Long Beach Gives

The Foodbank of Southern California participated in Long Beach Gives for the first time. Long Beach Gives has raised over $6.6 million since 2019 for nonprofits. Long Beach Gives is a city-wide, online fundraising campaign to raise awareness and inspire community giving for Long Beach nonprofits. Funds raised go towards a variety of programs like Food Insecurity, Youth Programs, Senior Wellness, Mental Health, Animal Rescue, and more. The Foodbank’s goal was to provide 1000 Family Food Boxes to families in partnership with local after-school programs. Over 240 nonprofits participated this year and the Foodbank raised $13,096 ranking at #34 out of 244. Even though the Foodbank didn’t quite reach its goal, CEO Jeanne Cooper deems the Foodbank’s funds raised as success and she is looking forward to participating next year and reaching its goal.
