The Foodbank of Southern California

The Foodbank provides free nutritious food biweekly to feed thousands of low-income seniors at volunteer staffed Brown Bag distribution sites and free weekly deliveries to low-income homebound/shut-in seniors in Los Angeles County. This program is made possible through the commitment of dedicated volunteers who sort, bag, and distribute the food at the various sites.

Senior Brown Bag Program

Staying Healthy and Independent

The Brown Bag program is intended to help seniors live healthy, independent lives as long as possible.  Many seniors have one or more medical conditions and most live on fixed incomes, with relatively small monthly food budgets. The lack of nutritious food leads to unmanaged chronic conditions, a diminished quality of life and reduced ability to live independently.  Through our Brown Bag Network for Seniors Program, the Foodbank provides nutritious food to thousands of seniors per year that help meet their  dietary needs.
